Udruženje Građana “Valenca” (NGO”Valenca”)
The headquarters of the organization are located at south-east of Serbia in Niš. It’s a local organisation and member of Serbian national umbrella organisation: Naum.
Anyone can become a member of the organisation if he/she is user or ex-user of psychiatry. The organisation is user-led. It has about 30 members.
The organization has a board and assembly of the council that consists of all members. The Board has three members elected for the term of four years by the council. The organization has a project manager and a program director, a person for administration and delegated members for some activities.
Objectives and aims
The mission of the organization is to improve lives of users and ex-users of psychiatry in every aspect possible.
Specific goals are: Deinstitutionalization of psychiatry, fighting for better financial position of our peers and representing all of us in a positive way and better point of view.
Activities
Anti stigma campaigns, workshops for users, public speaking about the issues that are in accordance with our aims and statute.
