On May 24 the Committee on Bioethics approved the Draft Additional Protocol and decided to send it to the different committees/bodies of the Council of Europe for consultation, namely to the Steering Committee on Human Rights (CDDH), the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT), the CoE Commissioner for Human Rights, the CoE Parliamentary Assembly as well as the conference of INGOs. These bodies have until the end of October to submit their comments. Therefore, there is a need to address all the above mentioned bodies and inform them about our position. ENUSP together with EDF, MHE and other allies will continue to ask to #WithdrawOviedo

As part of the awareness raising campaign, MHE prepared a video clip which contains the brief summary of negative remarks the Draft Additional Protocol received during the UN Consultation on Human Rights and mental health in Geneva. Jolijn Santegoeds, Co-chair of WNUSP and Board member of ENUSP is among the speakers.

European Network of (Ex-)Users and Survivors of Psychiatry

ENUSP gives users and survivors of psychiatric services across Europe a way to communicate so that we can support one other in the personal, political, and social struggle against injustice and discrimination.

We are the only grassroots umbrella organization working across Europe to unite local and national organizations of (ex-) users and survivors of psychiatry.

We directly represent the views of people who are or have been on the receiving end of psychiatric services.
