We need to remind MEPs to reestablish the Disability Intergroup

By | 26/06/2019

The new European Parliament is about to start its work on July 2 and it is necessary to remind MEPs about the necessity to reestablish the Disability Intergroup. Even though the Disability Intergroup exists since the beginning, 40 years ago, many companies and organisations now lobby to have an intergroup too and there is a risk that the Disability Intergroup will not be reformed. In September each political group of the European Parliament will get a certain number of signatures depending on their weight in the chamber. (This number of signatures doesn’t correspond with the number of MEPs per group). During October and November, the leaders of the political groups will negotiate which intergroups they will support.

An intergroup will need 3 signatures supporting its re-establishment, meaning 3 political groups agreeing on the same intergroup.

You can help by adressing your MEPs and reminding them about the importance of the Disability Intergroup.

You can help promote the work of the previous Disability Intergroup by sharing the achievements of the previous Intergroup and also by sharing this video:
